Comfort | Care | Compassion
Deciding to euthanize your pet is one of the toughest choices you will ever face. We aim to ease this heavy time by helping you ensure that your final moments together are spent in the comfort of home instead of at a veterinary hospital. We're here to guide you through the pet euthanasia process, for a greater understanding at each step, and giving you the space you need to process your feelings and grieve in your own way. You are not alone.

Who we are
We sincerely appreciate the trust you place in us to support you during this challenging time. While we recognize that many companies provide similar services, we believe our reputation as a small, family-run business allows us to offer a more personalized experience.
Services - Euthanasia and Aftercare
The word ‘euthanasia’ comes from a Greek word meaning “good death.” Our pets truly deserve this kindness in return for all the love and companionship they give us throughout their lives. There comes a time when their quality of life starts to decline. They may no longer enjoy the activities they once did, and their health can deteriorate despite the best medical care. Deciding when it is time to say goodbye to your pet is a deeply emotional choice that requires thoughtful consideration. We believe it is a gift you can give your pet when they no longer have quality to their life, and it is a final act of compassion.
WHAT TO EXPECT
As the only medical profession licensed to perform this important gift, we take great pride in having the technical, medical, and soft skills needed to ensure a peaceful end-of-life experience for your pet.
Dr. Lindsay will meet with you and discuss your concerns, thoughts or questions surrounding the procedure. A sedation is then given to your pet to ease discomfort, and make your pet calm and comfortable. This injection of pain medication and sedatives will allow your pet to drift off into a peaceful sleep before the final injection is administered.
Aftercare
An ink paw, ink nose print, and/or fur clippings can be made as a gift from us at no charge if desired.
You hold the special responsibility of making aftercare decisions for your pet. Where appropriate, you have the choice of keeping your pet for a home burial the or working together with Gateway Pet Memorial, we will assist you in arranging cremation options that best suit you and your pet.
Private cremation
Your pet is cremated individually, and its ashes are returned to you in your choice of urn. When you choose private cremation, your pet is the only pet in the cremation chamber during the cremation process. You can rest assured you will only receive your pet’s ashes back.
Communal cremation
With a communal cremation, your pet is gently placed into the cremation chamber together with other pets. Your pet's ashes will not be returned, but you still have the option of purchasing a claw paw print or other memorial products offered through Gateway Pet Memorial.
We take the utmost care and respect when transporting your pet from your home for cremation. We treat your pet’s as we would our own! They are not forgotten!
When is it time?
When is it time? Dr. Lindsay uses a number of signals to determine the quality of your pet’s life. Pain, mobility, interaction/attitude, appetite, bathroom habits, and favourite things some of the are the biggest factors.
